The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies is the latest book by Drs. Nicole Apelian & Claude Davis. It's a great book to read because it provides an insight into the world of herbal medicines.

The book contains chapters on herbs, plants and fungi. 318 pages in all, it has a very appealing layout that makes it easy to read. It has excellent printing quality, colorful cover, improved print quality, and detailed plant information.

Chapter One has over fifty herbs and flowers that have been used for centuries to treat various ailments. It also includes a glossary with a complete list of medicinal terms. The herbals are divided into four sections. The first section includes the Herbs that have been used for centuries. They include: Amaryllis, Black Cohosh, Bearberry, Chamomile, Dandelion, Fern, Ginger Root, Lemon Balm, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Sunflower, Thyme and Zingiber.

The next three chapters focus on different types of plants. These include: Vegetable Herbal Remedies, Fungal Herbal Remedies, and Fruit Herbal Remedies. The book has chapters on: Chamomile, Fennel, Indian Ginseng, Fennel, Lily of the Valley, Milkweed, Passion Flower, Peony, St. John's Wort, Wild Rose, Wild Thyme and Wild Lavender.

Chapter Four is devoted to the many types of fungi and plants that grow and reproduce in damp or dark places. It contains descriptions of the different species and descriptions of their uses and effects.

The last five chapters on the lost book focus on Chinese herbal medicine. It contains chapters on: Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Chinese Traditional Medicine and Western, Traditional Herbal Medicine. There is also a glossary for those of us who are not familiar with Chinese terms. The book is well organized, but unfortunately it is hard to find the index at the end.

I was surprised to see that The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies doesn't have an index at the end, which would make the book easier to find. I'd have liked to have seen this book as part of my library.

This book is worth the purchase price. It is not only informative, it is informative for its purpose of learning
